Kate Upton: Let's go to prom

They say to aim for the moon and if you miss, you fall among the stars. The stars — or star, as the case may be —  is exactly what Jake Davidson is aiming for anyway. The Los Angeles area high school senior — dateless and staring his senior prom in the face — decided he had nothing to lose by aiming for model Kate Upton. In a clever, quirky video, Davidson extolled the virtues of Upton before making his prom bid on bended knee. Upton awesomely responded —  on Twitter: ”How could I turn down that video! I’ll check my schedule.” *Fingers crossed.*

Looking for something "Special"?

Anyone over 40 should remember television “Specials.” They were usually 1-hour primetime showcases for TV (or faded-film) stars. These programs really hit their peak in the 70’s and anyone who was kind of someone got a “Special.” Suffice it to say, these were blow-out, highly produced, of-the-moment vanity vehicles designed to grab ratings; THEY DID. They were maybe re-run once that year then sadly, long forgotten…until YouTube! In case you’ve never SEEN a TV Special, I’ve provided you with a few clips to whet your appetites! These gems are pop culture time capsules preserved on video. Fashion, hair, music, dance… whatever was popular that VERY second was incorporated into each show (hilariously so for today’s viewers). The go-to-gay for costumes was the incomparable Bob Mackie who REALLY pushed the fashion envelope on primetime television (notice all the sheer, slinky dresses in the clips). Of course, loveable stars could get away [...]

'16 & Pregnant' stars to speak at Fresno State

Attention moms, dads, daughters, sons, teachers, young people, college students, anybody with the ability to get pregnant or get somebody else pregnant, or anybody that knows people who can get and/or get somebody else pregnant; OR fans of the hit MTV reality series “16 & Pregnant”: this event is for you. Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra are coming to Fresno. Booked by local adoption service, Infant of Prague, the reality show stars — also known as “that couple who chose adoption” — will be speaking about their open adoption on March 2 at the Fresno State Satellite Student Union. WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT: Women’s health issues have been front and center this past election cycle, focussing heavily on reproductive services. We stake positions on whether or not a woman should have the right to choose, but we often forget that along with the choices of terminating a pregnancy or raising [...]

Interview: Josh Paul

Once upon a time I met this guy. He was playing at a local tavern a few years ago with some of his family and friends (Grammy award winner Timothy Bloom and Matthew Holmes) on a stool in the corner. He was a well-known musician, it’s a well-known fact I’m life’s biggest lover of music. He was down to earth and graciously had a drink with me – turns out we are both Twitter addicts, both hail from L.A., and so, it seemed like we should be friends. I liked that he couldn’t remember all the words to the Daughtry songs the bar crowd was asking him to sing, but he could belt out a mean rendition of “Stand By Me”. Sold. Fast-forward to today, and much has changed in the life of Josh “JP” Paul. Josh, who originally hails from Venice, California, is a musician most widely known as [...]

Thank You Very Much

Moxie fans, music fans: UNITE! Not only is this video pretty darn hilarious (who here amongst us doesn’t love pixellated nudity?), but the song, “Thank You Very Much” by Margaret is a pretty catchy tune. Best part?  TFM’s very own Eric Womack is IN THIS VIDEO! Catch him at the 2:02 mark wrasslin’ away. NOTE: Possibly NSFW, considering there is a ton of pixellated nudity. But since you can’t really see anything? You be the judge. Also? According to Eric, the actors “were wearing cover-ups but they pixelated them out.” So no real nudity.

Ask a Gay: Camp Night

We have over 500 channels and there is usually nothing worth watching on TV. Thanks to DVR’s, we are able to record and watch our favorite programs, but what about when you want to watch something out of the ordinary? Something trashy and fun? Dare I say, CAMPY!? If you really want to kick it up, call a bunch of friends and have a movie night. Make popcorn, order pizza, drink beer (or something stronger) and laugh your collective asses off at my top 5 movie night suggestions that will fit the bill: 1) MAHOGANY, Rated PG (Netflix, Amazon, eBay) — Starring Diana Ross, Bill Dee Williams and for some insane reason, Anthony Perkins. This movie is CAMPTASTIC. Follow Diana Ross as she goes from Detroit retail assistant to international super-model to international clothing designer (hey, it could happen). Shot on location in ACTUAL slums AND in Rome… great music, insane [...]

Golden Globe Awards: Red Carpet

The 2013 Golden Globe Awards are slightly less-glam than the Oscars, but eons more glam than the ridiculous People’s Choice Awards. Two things tell you this: First, the actresses who walk the GG red carpet do so in designer garb; and second, bona fide A-listers actually walk this red carpet. Of fashion note at tonight’s awards: the preponderance of strapless dresses, and the occasional appearance of gam (aka leg). Start gallery >>
