‘Tis the season for thrifting, and it is amazing what you can find out there. People rush forward to purge post-Christmas, hoping to organize for the new year while gaining last minute, end-of-the-year tax write offs by donating old household goods. You can find all kinds of great bargains. Bonus: Clear glass pieces, such as vases and cake stands, are in abundance.
While you may not find perfection, you may find promise — and that is where the spray paint comes in. You can update and enhance many old items with a quick dusting of spray paint. Even glass.
That’s how I transformed a clear glass, somewhat ugly cake stand into a shiny, metallic showpiece.
