So we’re sitting in the living room yesterday watching Harry Dean Stanton eat an egg breakfast in Pretty in Pink when my boyfriend says that he recently saw something on Lifehacker about how to separate egg yolks from the whites using a water bottle.
Less than 45 seconds later, he, I, and my brother were in the kitchen testing this method for ourselves. Did it work? Find out below! (hint: yes, it worked.)
Coolest food experiment ever. I highly recommend giving this one a go in your own test kitchen.

Wow, that was great. Don’t forget to wash out and recyle that plastic bottle (hahaha)
That is amazing!
Yeah, you can tell by our reactions we were very skeptical about it working, and then very surprised when it did. That’s why we didn’t really try to set up the video with better lighting and hair/makeup — we thought it was going to be a waste!
Cool!
get out…it’s on now!
I have literally no reason to ever separate egg yolks from whites, but I’m going to do this from time to time just because I CAN.
