Sometimes you see something pinned on Pinterest over and over and over and you have to wonder: Is it really worth all the attention? In our series Pin-tested we take something you’ve seen a thousand times on Pinterest and put it to the test.
I’m such a sucker for the stylish, “easy” hairstyle how-to pins that continually pop up in my Pinterest feed. I repin and mentally promise to try the styles soon, but more often than not never do because of my “hair reality.” Though my hair is finally getting longer and would be considered at least medium length, I have VERY fine hair. I also have layers that like to pop out and wreak havoc on pretty styles like a long, single, side-swept braid. My hair requires a good amount of teasing or back combing to give an appearance of any volume at the root as well, making full or textured styles (think Bardot-inspired looks) nearly impossible to obtain.
Despite my hair disabilities, I decided today to try a look I’d pinned that truly looked foolproof, and I have to admit, it actually was!
The original site the pin came from is My [yellow] Sandbox, and here is the picture that I saw:

The style I tried is the one on the bottom, center. (The low, ends-tucked-up ‘do)
And here are my results:

Shockingly, not entirely horrifying, right?
Clearly, my little twisty knot is not nearly as full as the original, but it’s up, off my neck, and I’d like to think it at least looks like I tried to fix my hair, so I’m going to declare this pin a win! For instructions from the original poster on recreating this style, check out the video included here.
