The other night I was at a family event and my beautiful and accomplished niece, Katie, had her hair in what looked like the most intricate, complicated-looking twist.
Katie is a ballerina, and is forever tasked with wearing her hair up and in various forms of the ballerina bun. This twist, however, is like a cinnamon bun, and is really versatile for dancers when they need their hair flat and close to their head (for example, when they have to wear a headpiece). It is also a gorgeous style, and for those with talent and long hair (or daughters therewith), or those who have partners with Princess Leia fantasies, this just might be the up-do for you.
When I asked her about it, Katie swore it really was actually a pretty simple style. Intrigued, I popped over to my sister’s place and photographed Katie in bun-making action.
