Don’t get me wrong. It’s not that I didn’t love my old jeans. On the contrary: I loved them hard; I loved them deeply and passionately. I maybe loved them a little *too* much. Because when summer rolled around… when the scorching 102-degree days crept into my weekly — then daily — landscape… and when I could no longer tolerate wearing clothing that covered the entirety of my legs…
…It was so hot. I was so sweaty, I couldn’t think and my vision lost its color. It was like seeing through a tunnel and I couldn’t get that singular, circular thought out of my head, pounding, shouting, louder and louder: Must. Kill. Pants.
I went to the bedroom and found the pants were asleep on the floor, where I’d last left them. Crumpled, discarded. I gently lifted them from the floor and lay them on the bed. They woke and looked at me, questioningly. I smiled, showing them the scissors and then I CUT OFF THEIR LEGS.
Which frankly, I don’t think they were too chuff about.
Anyhoo, I seem to be getting more and more cavalier with my scissors these days, having turned no less than 3 pairs of jeans into cutoffs.
But what to do with all the leftover denim?
Totes. TOTES! Reusable, cute little gift totes.
