What you’ll need

You actually don’t need a whole lot to accomplish this project; the two biggies are time and patience — both of which can be in limited supply. Also:
What you’ll need:
— 1 quart of latex paint in your desired color (I chose satin, just because I did.)
— 1 bottle of textile medium (I used Delta’s Ceramcoat Textile Medium)
— cup to mix it in (personally, I ditched the cup and used an old plastic jar with a lid. Easier to save the paint mixture and to shake up the mixture later)
— paint brush
— fine grit sandpaper
— spray bottle filled with water
— newspaper or some kinda drop cloth
— piece of furniture you want to paint

i bought a piano bench, good wood, planning on painting the wood white, but the top is, i guess leather or something similiar, so could i paint this leather or vinyl, I was going to tear into and redo the top with a piece of upholstery material, but i have never done this before, and this had a piped edge on the leather, so did not think i better try this. I guess the bench painted white with the brown leather.vinyl seat could do. Donna P.
I’m not sure how to paint vinyl; maybe there is a good leather stain? Or maybe a shoe shine?
