Sometimes you see something pinned on Pinterest over and over and over and you have to wonder: Is it really worth all the attention? In our series Pin-tested we take something you’ve seen a thousand times on Pinterest and put it to the test.
I have a board on Pinterest titled “Cool things for Keegan” to which I pinned the following pin to a few weeks ago:

Today was such a beautiful day, I thought we’d give the nature scavenger hunt (created by The Taylor House) a try. Sometimes activities I think Keegan will love go over like a lead balloon, so I was really excited to see his eyes light up when I explained what we were going to do.
We headed outside and began searching for items on the list. “Something fuzzy” was a bit challenging, and one of the first target items we tried for, but we eventually found a fuzzy leaf and then we were off to the races.

"Something you think is a treasure" (an empty snail shell)

Our "something round"
Keegan really enjoyed this activity and kept saying we were “like real scientists!” If you’re looking for something to do on a pretty day that will get curious kids’ minds going, I’d highly recommend trying a nature scavenger hunt. Try the Taylor House list or make up your own, but get outside and have some fun!

Keegan gives this pin two thumbs up!
