Summer of 1980. Hanging out at my friend, Heather Bucy’s house. My parents: married in the 50s. Her parents: married in the 70s. Our households couldn’t have been more different. For starters? They had a CAT.
Heather taught me how to make my first non-cereal meal: a bean burrito from canned refried beans. So. Much. AWESOME. Still one of my favorite meals.
And this song played played in the background, probably on repeat, like a bajillion times.
