• Lindsay Lohan’s crash with a big rig Friday has officially turned into the circus it was always going to be. Over the weekend, the driver whose truck Lindsay rammed with her Porsche told his side to TMZ (natch), which is basically that Lohan rammed him, then tried to flee in an Escalade driven by someone associated with the Lifetime movie she is currently filming (the Escalade was conveniently following Lohan). The truck driver says he was approached by whoever was driving the Escalade and offered a bribe to keep his mouth shut; however, sure that Lohan was fleeing the scene, he’d already called 911. The truck driver also alleges that Lohan’s assistant filled a bag with “stuff” from the car and topped it with clothing, and that the Escalade driver asked him to not mention the bag to cops. [TMZ]
• Right on schedule, Lohan is already claiming she didn’t do it. Or, she did, but it’s not her fault! It’s the car’s fault! It’s the media’s fault! It’s her work schedule! It’s because daddy never loved her! [TMZ]
• Also on schedule, the truck driver has lawyered up, claiming he has pain that only the feeling of rolling around naked on a bed covered in hundred-dollar bills can cure. [TMZ]
• Oh, and now it turns out Lohan lied to police, telling them she was not driving at the time of the accident. Unfortunately, her assistant didn’t corroborate this story, and now Lohan is in danger of having her probation revoked because lying to police is, like, a crime. [TMZ]
• In non-Lindsay Lohan asshattery news, congratulations to Matthew McConaughey, who married longtime girlfriend and mother of his children Camila Alves in Austin, Texas, over the weekend. The couple’s guests were set up on their property in “luxury tents” for the three-day affair, which included “sipping beer” and “beanbag and ring toss.” For the ceremony itself, the Clampetts put on their finest duds and got down city-slicker style, putting on shoes and using the indoor toilet. • Best wishes to Tommy Chong, who revealed over the weekend he has prostate cancer. Chong is, unsurprisingly, treating his illness with cannabis; some might argue he’s been treating the illness decades before he even had it. [People]
• Fingers crossed also for Good Morning America‘s Robin Roberts, who has announced she is dealing with a blood and bone marrow disease called myelodysplastic syndrome. Roberts, who has battled breast cancer, will undergo a bone marrow transplant later this year. [People]
• Kids at school are being mean to Michael Jackson’s 14-year-old daughter, Paris, which is especially cruel considering life handed her Michael Jackson as a parent. It probably doesn’t help that, instead of telling her bully problems to the school principal, Paris tells Oprah Winfrey. [Daily Mail]
• A tale of two divas: Over the weekend, Madonna got attention for baring her breast at a show in Istanbul. Also over the weekend, Madonna’s rival, Lady Gaga, suffered a concussion when she got hit in the head with a metal pole yet continued on with the show, performing sixteen more songs. Point: Gaga. • Neil Patrick Harris hosted the Tony awards last night, which I did not watch. But I did watch this video of his opening number, and I found it delightful, and just enough theater to last me until next year’s Tonys. [Gawker]
• Blind item: :It’s not very often that an Academy Award nominee can have such a secret life, but this actress has managed it. It is something she got from the rest of her family. Secrets were easy to keep on the family and no one talked to outsiders. No one except for a few people even know who the real father of our actress is. There are huge gaps missing in her life story and some of them are answered here. When our actress graduated from high school she had big dreams but ended up in a situation which saw her getting married to a high school sweetheart. Her life got put on a hold awhile before she could start her acting career full-time. She eventually did so and just when she thought everything was going great after her college graduation, she again had a setback. This time it was another relationship which she has never discussed. She never discusses any of her relationships. As far as anyone is concerned she has never even had a relationship. For a long time she had a relationship with a person she had met at school. This so dominated her life that for almost two years she was unable to really focus on acting. It was not until the relationship ended after two years that she got her big break. Because of the way relationships have messed up her career and her plans, she tries to avoid any kind of situation which could lead to a date or a relationship. She stays alone and has few friends. She refuses to let anyone really know her. She has friends only for the sake of saying she has friends, but they don’t know anything about her either.
