Look at this thing? THIS is what he was living with. It clearly needed to be replaced.
What you’ll need:
— 1 old lampshade to deconstruct
— Box of old slides you don’t know what to do with
— 200 (or so) 10mm jump rings (available at craft stores)
— 1 brad-sized hole punch
— Flat nosed pliers
— Round nosed pliers
or…
— Needle nosed pliers
and
— Time.
NOT PICTURED: I ripped off all the old lampshade stuff and set it aside, but kept the top wire part and the bottom wire part.
