When the weather starts heating up, my hair becomes public enemy number one. Specifically the hair that likes to stick to my forehead if I’m sweaty, the little pieces that get in my eyes, and the ones that stick to the back of my neck. Ugh. I just want my hair up and out of the way. However, it would be ideal if, while my hair is up minding its manners, it actually look nice too.

Recently, I was reading a magazine that suggested trying a “ballerina bun;” that it was the current hairstyle trend amongst celebrities. I can’t for the life of me find that magazine again now to tell me which one it was (dangit!), but it was a little toasty today, so I figured why not give this style a try.

Often, I have a hard time with hair tutorials I find on Pinterest or other places because a) my hair is super fine, and b) though my hair is at least medium length, I have layered pieces that like to pop out and start trouble.

This time though, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that not only could a normal person attain this “celeb style” but it was relatively easy to create and kept my hair out of the way all day. Even better, when I walked out of the bathroom when I finished styling, the hubby said, “Your hair looks cute.” Winner winner! This style is a keeper.
