I love cake pops. Who could possibly not appreciate the simple awesome of candy-dipped cake balls on a stick? For the uninitiated, these small, sweet treats are the trifecta of nomminess (is too a word):
1) They are bite-sized (maybe two bites; depends on whether you’re taunting someone a la “nyah, nyah, nyah,” or secretly eating them in your closet. Either way — NOM);
2) They are composed of cake, frosting AND melty candy (which — though it sounds cloyingly sweet — is a divinely inspired concoction that offers the PERFECT combination of all three); and,
3) They are adorable. Oh, and,
4) Delicious.
Quadfecta. Whatevs.
I first learned of cake pops when I stumbled upon Bakerella’s book at Target (where every culinary genius shops), and later by hunting down her site and reading every word. Now, I don’t mean to brag (because I pride myself on being amazingly humble and also attractive), but dude — I rock at making cake pops. I mean, I’m no Bakerella, but let’s just say my cake pops could be the wingmen to the sexy awesome that are hers. Seriously. Let’s face it: EVERYBODY needs a wingman.
